Iranian feature ‘Sara & Aida’ has won an award at the 10th edition of the Jaipur International Film Festival (JIFF) in India.
The festival’s website recently announced the winners in different categories.
‘Sara & Aida’ directed by Maziar Miri received the best Feature Fiction Film award in a section titled Film from Asian Continent.
‘Sara & Aida’ narrates the story of two intimate friends. A brief synopsis for the flick teases, "When the reputation of one of them is in danger, they both try to help solve the situation. But how far will they go to support each other?"
Ghazal Shakeri, Pegah Ahangarani, Mostafa Zamani, Saeed Changizian, Tina Pakravan, and Shirin Yazdanbakhsh star in the movie.
Meanwhile, ‘Marriage’ directed by Katerina Philppou-Curtis from the UK won the award for Best Film from European Continent and the award for Best Film from American Continent went to ‘Bernard and Huey’ directed by Dan Mirvish from the US.
The JIFF is held annually in Jaipur, India, since 2009. The festival is conducted by the Jaipur International Film Festival Trust.
The 10th edition of the JIFF was slated for January 6-10, 2018.
